Sound Cascade is a barbershop chorus of female singers, who meet regularly to practice, perform, socialize, and have fun. We currently have approximately 20 singers of all ages, all walks of life, and from South Dakota, Minnesota, and Iowa.

The main purpose of Sound Cascade is to enhance musical skills and enrich the community by performing barbershop music. We host and/or participate in local shows, perform at a number of community events and at our annual competition. We also sing at nursing homes, assisted living centers, and conventions. We are available to sing at your next function or event. If you're looking for a unique musical experience for an upcoming event, please check out our Hire Us section.

In addition to sharing our music with others, we benefit from belonging to Sweet Adelines International. Vocal instruction is a regular part of chorus rehearsals and a very important component of the chorus exoerience . Twice a year, we get coaching from a visiting master in the art of barbershop where we learn many fabulous tricks of the trade.

In the spring of every year, Sound Cascade participates in regional competition. Competition offers a special time for quartets and choruses from our region to come together and sing. A panel of judges provide constructive feedback and rank contestants based on score. The winners of the regional competition in both quartet and chorus categories travel to International Competition which is held in the fall. Click here to learn more.

Most choruses have a number of members who form their own vocal quartets in addition to singing with the chorus. We currently do not have any formally organized quartets.

Sound Cascade is a chapter of Sweet Adelines, International, a worldwide, non-profit organization of approximately 30,000 members in choruses and quartets. The Headquarters is in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
